The Southern Volunteer Battalion Flag
The Southern Volunteer Battalion flag was designed collectively by members of the Southern Volunteer Battalion. There was no actual Southern Volunteer Battalion in Florida during the war, this flag was adapted so that the many members who serve the Southern Volunteer Battalion will have a standard to be proud of. Made from the standard design of the 1st National Flag of the Confederate States of America, the flag contains 7 stars symbolizing the 7 initial states that succeeded from the Union. The center 6 pointed star represents Florida which succeeded on January 10, 1861. This star design was found to be used by many Floridians during the war.
