Southern Volunteer Battalion

On Saturday at the Battle of Ollustee, the 3rd Florida Compan A, and the 7th Florida Company B decided to seperate from the Southern Volunteer Battalion and return under the Department of the Gulf. Colonel Andy Smith resigned as well as Lt. Colonel Don Lewis. The Southern Volunteer Battalion will remain intact with Major Steve Mercer commanding along with the 3rd Florida Company B and two other companies that General Hardy will assign. It was a sad day on the field when the Southern Volunteer Battalion's two larges units decided not to be loyal to the cause and pull away. But the Battalion will go on and become one of the best in Florida. Watch this page for future reorganization information.
